Change your preferences

Set the general behaviour options that shape how Letro works day to day, such as how the timeline reads and how the composer behaves. These are personal to your account.

On Web & Desktop

  1. Select your avatar in the top-left, then choose Settings.
  2. Open Preferences.
  3. Browse the sections and turn options on or off to suit how you like to work. You'll typically find controls for things like:
  4. Timeline and messages — how the message list behaves, such as grouping, timestamps, and read receipts.
  5. Composer — how the message box behaves, such as sending on Enter versus adding a new line, and emoji or autocomplete behaviour.
  6. Silo list — how your conversations are sorted and shown.
  7. Most changes apply right away. Close Settings when you're done.

On iOS

  1. Tap your avatar in the top-left, then tap Settings.
  2. Tap Preferences.
  3. Review the available options and toggle them to match how you like to work — for example, how the timeline reads, how the composer behaves, or how your silo list is sorted.
  4. Changes apply right away. Tap Back to leave Settings.

On Android

  1. Tap your avatar in the top-left, then tap Settings.

Good to know

  • The exact list of options depends on your platform and app version, so you may see more or fewer settings than the examples above. The safe approach is to change one thing at a time and see how it feels.
  • These preferences are personal to you and don't change anything for the other people in your conversations.
  • Some options are saved to your account and follow you to other devices; others are specific to the device you're on. If a change doesn't appear elsewhere, set it again on that device.
  • Looking for theme, text size, or contrast? Those live in Appearance, not Preferences.
