During a call

The controls available while you're on a Letro Call — muting, camera, screen sharing, and leaving.

Security note: Everything in a Letro Call, including a shared screen, is end-to-end encrypted and visible only to the people on the call.

Once you're in a call (see Start a voice or video call), a set of controls lets you manage your audio and video and share your screen.

Common controls

  • Mute / unmute — turn your microphone off or on. Others see when you're muted.
  • Camera on / off — start or stop sending your video.
  • Leave — leave the call. In a group call, the call continues for everyone still on it.
  • Participants — see who's currently on the call.

Share your screen

Screen sharing lets everyone on the call see a window or your whole screen — useful for walking through a document together.

On Web & Desktop

  1. In the call controls, select Share screen.
  2. Choose what to share — a single window, a browser tab, or your entire screen.
  3. Confirm to start sharing. Select Stop sharing when you're done.

On iOS & Android

Screen sharing may be available depending on your device and app version. If it is, you'll find it in the in-call controls; your device will ask you to confirm before your screen is shared.

Join an ongoing call

If you left a call that's still going, or a call is happening in a silo, you can rejoin from the join call banner at the top of that silo. See Start a voice or video call.

Good to know

  • Muting is local and instant. When you mute, no audio is sent from your device until you unmute.
  • Leaving vs ending. Leaving a group call doesn't end it for others — the call continues until the last person leaves.
  • Screen sharing is encrypted too. A shared screen is protected exactly like the rest of the call.
  • Check permissions if something won't work. Microphone, camera, and screen-recording permissions are granted at the device or browser level — if a control seems stuck, check there.
