Filter and sort your conversation list

Use the filters bar above your conversations to narrow the list down to just what you need — like unread chats or directs — then clear it to see everything again.

On Web & Desktop

  1. Look at the row of filter chips just above your conversation list.
  2. Select a chip to narrow the list:
  3. Unreads — only conversations with new messages.
  4. Directs — only your direct chats with individuals.
  5. Silos — only group silos.
  6. Favourites — only conversations you've marked as favourite.
  7. Select more than one chip to combine filters (for example, Unreads and Directs).
  8. To clear a filter, select its chip again so it's no longer highlighted. Clear all of them to see your full list.

On iOS

  1. Find the filter chips above your conversation list.
  2. Tap a chip — Unreads, Directs, Silos, or Favourites — to narrow the list.
  3. Tap chips together to combine them.
  4. Tap a highlighted chip again to turn that filter off. Turn them all off to see everything.

On Android

  1. Find the filter chips above your conversation list.
  2. Tap a chip — Unreads, Directs, Silos, or Favourites — to narrow the list.
  3. Tap chips together to combine them.
  4. Tap a highlighted chip again to turn that filter off. Turn them all off to see everything.

Good to know

  • Filters are a quick, temporary view — not a permanent change. Nothing is moved, archived, or deleted; you're only changing what's shown right now.
  • With no filters active, your list is ordered by most recent activity, so conversations with the newest messages rise to the top.
  • Filters pair well with the more lasting ways to organize: mark a conversation as a Favourite or set it to Low priority so it stays sorted the way you want, then use filters on top for a quick focused view. See Favourites and low priority.
