Make Letro easier to use

Letro works with your device's built-in accessibility features and adds its own display settings, so you can read and use the app comfortably.

Accessibility settings live in two places: some are inside Letro (mostly under Appearance), and some belong to your device's operating system. This page shows you where to find each.

On Web & Desktop

  1. Select your avatar in the top-left, then choose Settings.
  2. Open Appearance to adjust display settings such as theme (Light, Dark, or System), font size, and high contrast if it's shown.
  3. To make everything larger, use your browser or computer zoom (for example, hold Ctrl or Cmd and press +). Letro's layout adjusts as you zoom.
  4. For a screen reader (such as VoiceOver, Narrator, or NVDA), turn it on in your computer's own accessibility settings. Letro's buttons, menus, and messages are labelled so your screen reader can read them.
  5. To reduce animations, turn on your operating system's "reduce motion" setting. Letro follows it where the platform supports it.

On iOS

  1. Tap your avatar in the top-left, then tap Settings.
  2. Tap Appearance to set the theme, font size, and high contrast if it's available.
  3. To scale text across the whole app, open the iOS Settings app, then go to Accessibility > Display & Text Size and adjust options like Larger Text, Bold Text, and Increase Contrast. Letro respects your system text size.
  4. To use VoiceOver, turn it on in Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver. Letro's controls are labelled so VoiceOver can describe them.
  5. To cut down on movement, turn on Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion.

On Android

  1. Tap your avatar in the top-left, then tap Settings.
  2. Tap Appearance to set the theme, font size, and high contrast if it's available.
  3. To scale text and display size across the whole app, open your device's Settings app, then go to Accessibility > Display size and text (wording varies by device) and adjust Font size, Display size, and Bold text. Letro respects your system text size.
  4. To use TalkBack, turn it on in Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack. Letro's controls are labelled so TalkBack can describe them.
  5. To reduce animations, turn on Remove animations under Settings > Accessibility (wording varies by device).

Good to know

  • Letro's in-app settings and your device's accessibility settings work together. For example, a larger system text size plus Letro's font size setting both affect how big messages look.
  • Exact toggles differ by device, operating-system version, and platform. If you don't see a setting named here, check your device's own accessibility settings — that's where most of them live.
  • Display settings are saved per device. If you use Letro on more than one device, set each one up the way you like.
  • Turning features on or off for accessibility never changes your encryption or account security.
