Notification settings¶
Set how Letro notifies you across every conversation — your default alert level, mentions and keywords, and email notifications — all in one place.
On Web & Desktop¶
- Click your avatar in the top-left, then click Settings.
- Click Notifications.
- Make sure the main Enable notifications for this account toggle is on. If it's off, Letro won't notify you anywhere.
- Under Default setting, choose the level you want for new conversations:
- All messages — get notified for every new message.
- Mentions & keywords only — get notified only when someone @mentions you or uses a keyword you've set.
- Under Mentions & keywords, turn on the alerts you want (for example, notify me when someone @mentions me, or when my display name is used). Add any keywords you want to be alerted on — type a word and press Enter.
- Under Email notifications, toggle on the address you'd like Letro to email when you're away and miss something.
- Your changes save as you make them.

Good to know¶
- These settings are app-wide — they set the default for every conversation and sync across your devices. To change alerts for just one silo, use its own notification setting; that choice overrides the default here. See Notifications for a conversation.
- Keywords are your own words to watch for — a project name, a client, your nickname. When one appears in any conversation you're in, Letro alerts you even if that silo is set to mentions-only.
- Email notifications are a backstop for when you're offline. Letro emails a summary of what you missed to the address you enable; it never sends message contents in a way that weakens encryption.
- Turning off the master toggle silences Letro everywhere, but leaves your per-silo and keyword choices saved for when you turn it back on.
- If notifications aren't reaching you on any device even with everything enabled here, the cause is usually device- or system-level, not these settings. See Notifications aren't arriving.
